Journal to Memoir & Blog Post Tagging

CK Kochis

Episode #47

Commentary by Cindy Kochis

“A journal is a way for us to record pretty much anything we want. The intentions and uses are endless. And, the best part, you can’t get it wrong. How you journal is totally up to you.”
– Cindy Kochis

Is there a correct or incorrect way to journal? I’ve been journaling on and off since I was sixteen years old.

Over the years, how I log the date at the beginning of the entry has shifted. Now that I think about it, I’m not even sure I noted any form of acknowledgement of the day, month, or year when I was a teenager. I was too busy getting the stuff out of my head. Besides, I had the intention to burn most of those pages.

In episode #047, I explore two topics that have been brought up several time in random conversations in the Pen to Paper Writers Circle and with VA clients. Being me, I thought, they can’t be the only individuals curious to know more about how I transformed my journals with the idea of using the content in a memoir, and how to utilize categories and tags in WordPress blog posts.

What is some of the information you log prior to starting a blog entry? Do you list the time, day, and date? You’ll discover the information I log when I travel that has proven to be very useful.

Explore a simple way to organize your blog posts. While attempting to explain the difference of using categories and tags on a WordPress blog post, I found myself offering the visualization of a grocery store to set the scene and break down their uses with a client new to blogging.

Pour yourself a mug of hot tea and join me as I share the pearls of wisdom I discovered along my journey and why I transformed simple journal entries to tracking important details that may or may not be included in the memoir.
